This film documents the journey of students in the Black To Our Roots program of Atlanta, Georgia founded by Cashawn Myers of Habesha, Inc. (FAMU Graduate and former counselor at The Sakkara Youth Institute in Tallahassee, Florida). The movie, named after the program, begins in America and follows the participants from the beginning of the program to the end of their trip to Africa. The film was directed, filmed, and produced by Tre Whitlow, and has won four independent film awards between the years of 2007 and 2008. This is an engaging, informative and inspirational film that gives great insight into the history, values, and mission of HABESHA, Inc.
